Haggai
Daily Devotional from Haggai 1--
Verse 4
Is it a time for you yourself to dwell in your paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins?
It’s unfortunate that sometimes people put more investment into their own homes than they do the Lord’s. But you know he has a house too, right? It’s called the church (Matt. 21:13; 1 Cor. 3:16; Eph. 2:19-22; 1 Tim. 3:15; Heb. 3:6; 1 Pet. 2:4-5). And although he’s not against you living comfortably, he doesn’t take kindly to his house being neglected. So, be sure to enjoy the holidays. But as we head into a new year, I pray Haggai’s question will ring in our ears. You and I have a job to do. So, let’s pick up our hammer and go to work.
