Romans 8
Daily Devotional from Romans 8--
Verse 6
To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
Another way of interpreting flesh is simply human effort. Sometimes we get immersed in effort – our efforts and the efforts of others. And when we get inundated in all that, pretty soon we can begin to detect an odor of death. Everything just becomes lifeless. But, good gracious, there’s something so much better than our strivings of the flesh. It’s called the Spirit of God. And when we get our minds refocused on Him, it re-infuses a sense of life and peace. But that means, we need to reevaluate our sense of productivity. Our measly little efforts are not going to carry the day. Let’s get that straight right now. Therefore, don’t be afraid of doing a little less, if that means you can spend a little bit more time with Him.
