1 Corinthians 12
Devotional from 1 Corinthians 12 --
Verse 7
To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
Consider the Mona Lisa: da Vinci spent hours capturing the spirit and personality of his subject and "manifesting" it in his painting. Mostly it was for her own benefit - she was a wealthy woman who wanted a self-portrait. But it was such a unique piece of art that through the ages, millions have benefited from it - we get to appreciate the talent of the artist, and feel like maybe we could relate with this woman who gave life a sideways glance and a knowing grin.
God, the Great Artist, has also captured a bit of His Spirit and manifested it in YOU - not for your own benefit, but for those who see you. He wants you to be a portrait of His Spirit so that others might appreciate His handiwork and feel like maybe they can relate with Him. Be a reflection of His love for people today!
