2 Corinthians 1
Daily Devotional from 2 Corinthians 1--
Verse 12
We behaved in the world with simplicity and godly sincerity.
We can spend so much time wrapped up in Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter ("X")—peering into the lives of others because we are too bored with our own. The mundane tasks that scream for our attention don’t seem as compelling as the latest thread of vacation pics of the family we barely know. There’s just something gratifying, though, in getting the latest scoop on people’s lives. But, before you know it, we’re swimming in information, waterlogged with everybody else’s thoughts but our own. Verse 12, however, calls us back to life. Our own life. A life that’s not cluttered with every voice, opinion, and cause under heaven. It calls us to live in the moment, to put one step in front of the other. It might not be fast, it might not be flashy, but it’s desperately what our souls long for. Simplicity.
