1 Timothy 4
Daily Devotional from 1 Timothy 4--
Verse 8
For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
It’s not easy to train your body. Whether it’s running, swimming, singing, dancing, or painting—new skills take a lot of effort and time. Sometimes it gets frustrating as we practice the same thing a million times over, but when we see the results, we know it was worth it.
Spiritual training is the same! Spiritual practices are skills that need to be developed. Getting in the Word consistently, praying daily, having accountability, fellowshipping with other believers, and witnessing all take effort and time. Sometimes it can feel difficult when we first start out, and that’s okay, but over time we see tremendous results in our relationship with God and others. Not only that, but you may find it easier to be disciplined in other areas of your life as well!
When we place our value in the things of Jesus, we can go through many seasons of life and grow more than we ever thought we could.
