Revelation 8
Daily Devotional from Revelation 8--
Verse 6
Now the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to blow them.
For the first and most likely the last time ever, there will be silence in Heaven. At that time, seven angels will be standing ready to complete their specific assignments. They will blow trumpets and a third of the earth, sea, and fresh water will be destroyed, and a third of the sun will be darkened. Life on planet earth will never be the same.
In this destruction we still see God’s response to the prayer of Habakkuk 3:2: “In wrath remember mercy.” Will God be merciful in the midst of this incredible destruction? Yes, definitely so. To an unrepentant evil population, two thirds of the earth will still remain habitable, and God offers even the worst of the worst an opportunity to receive forgiveness.
When we stand ready and then do what God asks us to do, even His judgment will be disbursed with mercy to a lost and dying world. Thank God for His mercy to us today. And will you share His mercy with a hurting or lost person? It’s His desire, you know.
