Hebrews 5

Daily Devotional from Hebrews 5--

Verse 12
For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food.

The writer of Hebrews told the Hebrew Church that they had become “dull of hearing” and needed basic principles re-taught to them.

Sometimes, it’s easy to get caught up in other things or to let apathy take over when it comes to our faith in Jesus. But that stunts our growth as His followers. Being a Christ-follower means that we will pursue learning and growing in relationship with Him more and more. And as we do this we will grow in things like discernment—knowing what teaching is false, and what is truth. The Hebrew Church had let themselves be led astray because they were apathetic.

So today, if you’re feeling distracted or apathetic in your relationship with Jesus—press into Him! Read the Word, chat with another believer, or turn on some worship music and pray!
