1 Peter 2
Daily Devotional from 1 Peter 2--
Verse 9
But you are a chosen race, a holy priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
When we put our faith in Christ, we are adopted into His family and become co-heirs with Him. We have access to God’s presence through the Holy Spirit and we get to share the Good News. Isn’t that awesome?!
I love this verse; in it we see so many of the beautiful things about following Jesus. One of these is that we are no longer citizens of this world, but of God’s kingdom. With the elections closing, I think that’s something that is important for us to be reminded of. No matter what laws pass or what our political leaning is, above it all we belong to the Kingdom of Heaven. So, whether this election season turned out the way you wanted it to or not, remember that you belong to a Kingdom so much better than this earthly one, and it will not pass away.
Let’s remember what kingdom is the best one to invest our energy and hope into—the Kingdom of God!
